Japan walking tour image2International Rail has the recently released Japanese ‘Suica Card’ available for Australian travellers, a companion to the popular Japan Rail Pass to combine rail journeys between cities, as well as metro trains and buses.

It is a prepaid e-money card for transport and shopping – such as refreshments on the train, items at kiosks at the station and also to purchase items from the popular vending machines on the platforms.

It can be purchased for $36 and comes with a credit of JPY1,500 (approx. A$36) and can be topped up to a maximum of JPY 20,000 in Japan.
