Service on the first luxury sleeper train in South America – the Belmond Andean Explorer – begins May 2017, travelling on one of the highest train rail routes on the planet.
The train will evoke a resolutely South American style, and up to 68 guests will reside in en-suite cabins – across two double cabins, 20 twin cabins and 12 bunk-bed cabins for two people. Local ingredients will feature heavily in a menu devised by the chefs at Belmond Hotel Monasterio in Cusco.
Operated by Belmond, the company behind the Venice Simplon Orient Express, the Belmond Royal Scotsman and Ireland’s forthcoming Belmond Grand Hibernian train services, the Belmond Andean Explorer in Peru will offer a selection of four separate tours.
